表示建造

這個(gè)不難，但一篇作文里可能要多次用到這個(gè)概念，考生們要學(xué)會(huì)換詞避免重復(fù)，并且要記牢被動(dòng)語態(tài)的用法，不要犯語法錯(cuò)：

-建造：build，construct，establish，set up

-被動(dòng)：was/will be built/constructed/established/set up

例1：1860年河上建了一座橋。

In 1860,a bridge was constructed over the river.

例2：到2000年河流下游沿岸新建了一排商店。

By 2000, a row of shops were established/set up along the lower reaches of river.

表示增建

A was added to/ An addition was made to ,which was A

例：到2000年，學(xué)校和村莊之間增修了一條路。

In 2000,a new road was added between village and school.

In 2000,an addition was made to bring convenience to villagers, which was a road connecting village and school.

表示改造，取代

-A was turned into/ was converted to B

-A was replaced by B

例：原本位于南邊的魚市變成了住宅公寓，魚市對(duì)面的商店也被餐廳所取代。

The fish market in the southern area was converted to/turned into apartments, and the shops opposite the fish market were also replaced by restaurants.

表示建筑被被移走或拆掉

A was removed/ demolished/ taken down.

例1：老的電影院被拆了，取而代之的是一個(gè)大型購物中心。

The old cinema was removed/demolished/taken down, and a new shopping mall was constructed there.

例2：為了修建新的道路，這些商店被拆除了。

The shops were demolished to make way for a new road.

表示增多和減少

The size of A was reduced to 減少/ expanded to擴(kuò)張

或者，one person in ten/one person out of ten 十分之一的人

例1：到1860年，農(nóng)田的數(shù)量減少了一半，森林的面積是1780年的三分之一。

By 1860, the size of farmland was reduced to only half of the original size, and the area of woods was three times less than that of 1780.

例2：住宅區(qū)擴(kuò)張，是1968年的三倍。

The housing area was expanded and it was three times greater than that of 1968.

或者The housing area was more than three times what it was in 1968.

*注意不同的介詞搭配*：

reduce by 2/3 減少了2/3；reduce to 2/3 減少到2/3（減少了三分之一）

因此森林面積減少了2/3：the area of woods was reduced by two thirds

或者說森林面積減少到1/3：the area of woods was reduced to one third.

*表示兩倍*：

twice as many as/double in number

例：停車場(chǎng)的數(shù)量是2000年的兩倍。

The number of car parks is twice as many as that of in 2000.

Compared with 2000, the car parks double in number.
