雅思口語Part3參考回答

Part3

1.What kinds of markets are there in China?

There are several different markets in China. The most common one is morning street markets, which are usually located in or close to residential areas, selling vegetables, fruits and meat to local residents. These markets normally open in the early morning and close at noon. Another popular kind of market is night street markets, where people can eat various local foods like barbecues, rice noodles and desserts. This type of market may also attract lots of foreign visitors. In addition, there are wholesale markets that provide supplies to towns and cities. They are also the source of morning and night markets.

2.Do you think small markets will disappear in the future?

Although I hope it wont, it is probabaly true that small makerts will be replaced by other types of stores in the future. The main cause of this trend is the popularity of online shopping. Consumers nowadays can easily make orders in the shopping apps in their smartphones and then wait to receive their goods in their comfort of home. This has become increasingly regular for many city residents since the pandemic. Because of this, small market would lose customers and fail to stay competitive. Perhaps only thouse small markets which sell fresh ingredients could survive in the future.

3.Have peoples shopping habits changed in recent years?

Yes, I agree that peoples shopping habits have changed in recent years and this is mainly due to the increasing popularity of online shopping. Compared with going to real stores or markets, shopping on the internet is pretty convenient, especially for those who are busy with work and have no time for shopping. In fact, peoples addiction to online shopping could be much deeper after the pandemic. During the COVID-19 lockdown, when people were not allowed to go shopping as usual, it was online stores that helped satisfy our daily needs for necessities. We have therefored formed this new habit of shopping online.

4.What are the differences between shopping in street markets and big shopping malls?

There can be two differences. The most ovbious one is the environment. It is ususally more enjoyable for consumers to shop in large shopping malls since there are air conditioners that maintain a comfortable temperature. In contrast, street markets do not have such falitities and shopping there in cold winter or humit summer can not be easy. Another difference is the price of goods. In street markets, buyers can bargain with sellers and it is quite possible for us to get a good discount. However, the price of products in big shopping centers is normallly not negotiable, meanning that we may have to pay more than we have to.
