When I have time, I often like to visit places in the city that Ive never been to before, especially buildings, because actually, Im a fan ofmodern architecture（現(xiàn)代建筑）. The building Im going to tell you about is the Guangzhou Library.

I went there last month by myself, on a weekendI remember it was a Saturday morning, and I was excited to spend the day there reading some English novels and magazines. The library is really amazing, you know, the exterior is striking（外觀引人注目）. The faade looks like layers of books that are stacked randomly（外立面就像是書籍一層層隨機(jī)堆疊起來）. In the middle of the building, theres a tall glass atrium that slices all the way through the building（一個(gè)高大的玻璃中庭貫穿了整個(gè)建筑）. So it feels like you can walk directly through to the other side of the plaza（廣場）I think it looks pretty cool.

When you first enter, the first thing that stands out is（最先突出的是..） how open and airy（通風(fēng)的） it feels. Theres a lot of natural light too. From the first floor, you can look all the way up to the glass roof（一眼望到玻璃屋頂）, and there are bridges crisscrossing the atrium on different levels（不同樓層間的橫梁在中庭相互交錯(cuò)）. I think its really dynamic, because you can see all the people walking around the libraryI guess there must be eight or nine levels altogether.

Its fairly easy to navigate too（樓內(nèi)導(dǎo)航也相當(dāng)容易）I found the section I was looking for, and after browsing the shelves awhile（稍作瀏覽）, I found something that sparked my interest（激發(fā)興趣）. I staked out a good spot（找到了一個(gè)好地方）, and spent the rest of the day reading.
