公共交通方式托福作文

(一)

There are many different types of transportation which I could use to travel 40 miles from my home. The type of transportation I would choose depends mainly on how fast I need to get there and how much money I have. Some possibilities are walking, horseback riding, driving, or using a taxi, bus, or train.

The most economical choice is walking. It costs nothing, is healthful, but it is time consuming. The average person can walk about 4-5 miles per hour, so this trip would take at least 10 hours to complete. That means I would probably have to spend the night somewhere along the way. If I have to spend money for a hotel, then this choice really isn't free. Plus, I might arrive at the end tired and with sore feet! After walking comes animal transportation. In my area, horses are notcommon, so it wouldn't be a likely choice. I believe that a 40-mile trip would take 2 or 3 hours on a horse. If I had free access to a horse, the cost would be minimal. Of course, I'd have to knowhow to ride!

With a car, the travel time is minimal (under one hour), with only the cost of gasoline to consider. However, I don't own a car, and car rentals are expensive. Shared taxis are one form of affordable transportation, with 4 or 5 people sharing the cost of a car trip to a common destination. The only downside is finding people to share the fare with me. Fortunately, I live in an urban area, where there are buses and 'trains to ride. One of these would be my first choice.

In short} the kind of transportation depends on how fast I need to get to my destination and how much money I have. If I need to get there fast, and money isn't important, I can hire a private taxi. Since I don't own my own car, I don't have that option, and I have never walked 40 miles in one trip. I usually depend on the bus and trains, and would do so in this circumstance. They are cheap, dependable and reliable.

Now I face a choice that I need to go to another city which is 40 miles from my location, and decide which transportation I take.

While by bicycle, train, bus, and on foot are the basic four choise for me. THe first one is a good way to excise me, but too tiring and time consuming; The sencond way is economical to save time while not always convenient, for sometimes there is no train at the exact time that available for me;As for the last method, it is not in my consideration for I do not think one can do so good job like that expect he has ever do some professional training in long run.

Obviously, I choose bus as my tool for this journey. Firstly, bus facilitate me in schedule, for , as a matter of fact, almost there is a bus available each ten minutes for my travel or even more often.Secondly,it is also efficent by bus to fulfill this journey.Thirdly, I will really enjoy myself during the travel for the comfortable in bus, with TV or music through out the time.

To summary, having a journey like forty miles, bus,as a transportation, is definately the firt choise.while if it is a much longer one, train will be better one. Then bicycle or runing can fit for a short one.

公共交通費(fèi)用托福作文

Model Answer: Agree

Although there is an old saying that goes “there is no free lunch”, to my way of thinking, public transportation should be free to use. Of the countless reasons and examples, I will present the most conspicuous and essential ones here.

First and foremost, public transportation is a responsibility of government. That is to say, since citizens are required to pay the tax, government also has the obligation to create a more convenient traffic environment for people. As a result, it is reasonable and neccessary for the government to implement; cost free transportation policy.

In the second race, choosing public transportation is environment. To put it in another way, the inevitable problem that comes with the popularity of private cars is the severe air pollution. It's hard to imagine how much automobile exhaust is released into the atmosphere everyday. The main daily grouses are the air is not fresh and the sky is not blue any more. Under such circumstance, if public transportation can be free, there must be a larger number of people who would like to give up private cars, which will undoubtedly improve the air quality.

Finally, using public traffic is conducive to reducing the congestion. To state it more dearly, with more people choosing buses or metros, there will be fewer cars on the street. For this reason, people have to wait in lines in their cars on their way to work or home. So it's quite safe to say that the policy of free access to transportation is indispensable to improving the traffic condition.

In conclusion, government should encourage people to take public transportation and adopt a free traffic policy.

改善公共交通托福作文

In this modern society, governments always confront(遭遇困境)the dilemma whether spending more money on improving roads and highways or on improving public transportation. This problem is a much-debated one in that it affects everybody in his or her daily life. Personally speaking, I would be one of those who argue that governments should spend more money on improving public transportation.(公共交通肯定是政府投入的重中之重)

Though it is quite rational(合理的)for average people to choose roads and highways because of the obvious reason that a better road condition could suspend more vehicles and accelerate the speed of them. A close scrutiny of the potential benefits of choosing roads and highways would reveal how flimsy it is to stick to the propensity. A better road condition would bring with it more vehicles, thus a much more crowded traffic. Have you ever been caught in atraffic jam? Then how could just spending more money on improving roads and highways do?(本段是讓步段,明確指出投入建設(shè)高速公路的好處,但結(jié)尾時(shí)作者連續(xù)拋出兩個(gè)問(wèn)題,交通擁堵遇到過(guò)嗎?它是否跟更多地投錢(qián)到高速公路上有關(guān)系呢?這兩句是過(guò)渡句,說(shuō)明要接下一段反對(duì)的論據(jù)了)

Besides, putting the discussion in a wider context, a further reason why I advocate the later lies in the fact that improvement of road condition would stimulate more people to use cars and hence more energy would be used and more pollution would be exposed(被暴露). This would be the last thing that everyone would like to see. But if we choose to improve public transportation, a quite different result could be. This can be demonstrated by the undeniable fact of our city. We have greatly improved the bus network and reduced the parking places since several years ago. Now more and more people shift from cars to buses and other public transportation, and an azure (蔚藍(lán)的天空)sky can be highly savored again.(改善公共交通與保護(hù)環(huán)境息息相關(guān))
