理由1：When he was first enrolled on campus, he had trouble managing his schedule. 于是他把一些learning activities(reading for an essay) postpone to the end of the semester，使得自己never caught up。

理由2：socialize的時候，music students多數(shù)會跟自己same interest和same major的人去hang out，而跟不同的人，例如engineer or art students，會be interesting and rewarding。

Inaction inertia is the phenomenon that one is not likely to act on an attractive opportunity after having bypassed an even more attractive opportunity. So far, all published work has assumed a causal role for the emotion regret in this effect. In a series of 5 experiments we found no support for this regret explanation.

英國海軍Sir John Franklin船上的一些crew死于lead poisoning，有人猜測是密封canned food所使用的lead導(dǎo)致的，but it is improbable，有以下三個原因：

1. Lead did not contact with the food. 鉛確實(shí)用來密封罐頭，但因?yàn)殂U只用于罐頭表面，而不與食物接觸，所以不可能是封罐頭的鉛導(dǎo)致的中毒;

2. Other ships did not report poisoning. 當(dāng)時其他船的船員也都會食用這種罐頭，假如真的因?yàn)楣揞^不可能只有這艘船的船員會發(fā)生中毒案件;

3. Other source led to the poisoning. 這艘船有個unique water purification system，這個系統(tǒng)里面有l(wèi)ead pipe，所以是這個lead pipe的鉛滲入到了水中，造成了船員鉛中毒。

就是canned food上的鉛導(dǎo)致的鉛中毒。

1. canned food的公司給了員工time pressure，所以員工在密封罐頭的時候會careless，導(dǎo)致密封鉛與食品接觸，進(jìn)而導(dǎo)致船員中毒;

2. 其他船的船員很可能也中毒了，只不過比較輕微所以沒有報告。因?yàn)檩p微鉛中毒的癥狀是tiredness and headache，容易和其他病癥混淆。所以其他船的船員中毒事件沒有detected and reported;

這個unique water purification system是給引擎供水的，因?yàn)槭莝team engine，所以需要把海水變成fresh water，不然引擎用海水會損壞。并且船員有separate water purification system，并沒有喝這個water purification system的水。
