Research shows that overeating can be just as harmful as smoking.Thus,the advertising of certain food products should be banned,as cigarette is banned in many countries.To what extent do you agree or disagree?

研究表明,過度飲食跟吸煙已經(jīng)有害健康。因此特定食物的廣告應(yīng)該受到禁止,就跟許多國家里的香煙廣告一樣。你在多大程度上同意或者不同意這一觀點?

It is said that the excessive consumption of food is as bad as smoking for health.However,I completely disagree with the idea that adverts for some food products should be prohibited.

據(jù)說,過度飲食與吸煙一樣,對人們的健康有害。然而,我完全不同意以下觀點,即特定食物的廣告應(yīng)該被禁止。

食物與香煙不同

There are various valid reasons why I believe that the advertisement of some food items should not be banned in the way tobacco commercials are banned.The main one is that if the food items are eaten in the correct proportions,it does not harm our health.Only eating an enormous amount of food can lead to certain health ailments such as obesity.By contrast,it is scientifically proven that smoking is injurious to our health so it is vital to ban the endorsements of cigarettes.However,this is not the case with all the food items because they are not as dangerous as smoking.Therefore,it is pointless to ban the advertisement of food products.

有多種原因讓我認(rèn)為一些食物的廣告不應(yīng)該像香煙那樣被禁止。最主要的一個是,如果按照正確的份量吃食物,它并不會損害我們的健康。只有吃大量的食物才會造成特定的健康問題,如肥胖。相比之下,科學(xué)證明,吸煙對我們的健康有害,因此禁止宣傳香煙至關(guān)重要。然而,食物并不是這樣,它們不像吸煙那么危險。因此,禁止特定食物的廣告毫無意義。

廣告與過度飲食之間不存在直接聯(lián)系

Furthermore,it is unequivocal that the ads provide information about products and create awareness among the masses about those products.Also,it is a person’s individual choice whether they should eat certain food products or not.Therefore,banning the adverts for certain food products would not serve the purpose.The cause of concern is not the food;rather it is the overconsumption of food.Instead of banning food products,governments should raise awareness among people about the harmful implications of overeating.

此外,廣告會提供產(chǎn)品的相關(guān)信息,并讓大眾了解這些產(chǎn)品。是否應(yīng)該吃特定的食物完全取決于個人選擇。因此,禁止特定食物的廣告并不會達成相應(yīng)的目的。引發(fā)這一問題的并不是食物,而是過度攝入食物。與此禁止食物產(chǎn)品,政府應(yīng)該提升人們有關(guān)過度飲食危害的認(rèn)識。

結(jié)論

Since food is harmful only when it is eaten in excess quantity,I do not think that its advertisements should be banned.Instead,the government should launch campaigns to make people aware of the importance of consuming any food in moderation.

由于食物只要在過度攝入的時候才有危害,我不認(rèn)為它的廣告應(yīng)該被禁止。相反,政府應(yīng)該進行宣傳使人們意識到適量飲食的重要性。
