現(xiàn)在留學(xué)的學(xué)生越來(lái)越多，留學(xué)可以開(kāi)闊眼界，也能學(xué)習(xí)不一樣的教育體制，而且國(guó)外名校眾多，教育水平也一流。下面小編就來(lái)和大家說(shuō)說(shuō)“獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金|英國(guó)劍橋大學(xué)某學(xué)院設(shè)立全額獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金”這個(gè)問(wèn)題
根據(jù)英國(guó)《每日電訊報(bào)》報(bào)道，劍橋一所學(xué)院面向貧困背景學(xué)生設(shè)立了英國(guó)第一個(gè)全額獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，與“常春藤院校”提供的類似機(jī)會(huì)抗衡。
▎劍橋大學(xué)設(shè)立全額本科獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金
這所學(xué)院就是劍橋大學(xué)圣約翰學(xué)院，該獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金項(xiàng)目叫做“Free Places”(免費(fèi)名額)財(cái)務(wù)支持方案。
根據(jù)St John’s的新計(jì)劃，這項(xiàng)全額獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金覆蓋學(xué)生大學(xué)期間的所有學(xué)費(fèi)、住宿費(fèi)和其他日常生活費(fèi)。一次將覆蓋40名本科生，符合條件的學(xué)生每年可以獲得超過(guò)￡17,000的資金支持。
一直以來(lái)哈佛、耶魯、普林斯頓等大學(xué)提供全額獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金機(jī)會(huì)，覆蓋學(xué)生的學(xué)費(fèi)和生活費(fèi)，但英國(guó)是沒(méi)太有全額獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金這個(gè)說(shuō)法的。St John’s這一做法打破劍橋慣例，也打破英國(guó)以往慣例。
所有符合獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金條件的St John’s錄取學(xué)生，將在2023-24學(xué)年自動(dòng)獲得學(xué)院的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金。負(fù)責(zé)人表示，這個(gè)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金不需要償還，這樣學(xué)生畢業(yè)時(shí)就不會(huì)負(fù)債。St John’s學(xué)院表示，這一項(xiàng)目將適用于每年學(xué)費(fèi)￡9,250的所有本科生。另外，這項(xiàng)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金還將提供住宿費(fèi)和生活費(fèi)，使之成為全英國(guó)最“慷慨”的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金項(xiàng)目。
三年本科下來(lái)，每名符合條件的學(xué)生將獲得總計(jì)￡51,000的經(jīng)濟(jì)支持。
St John’s院長(zhǎng)Heather Hancock表示，許多來(lái)自貧困家庭、學(xué)業(yè)成績(jī)優(yōu)異的學(xué)生都不愿申請(qǐng)劍橋大學(xué)，因?yàn)樗麄儞?dān)心畢業(yè)后會(huì)陷入債務(wù)困境。
Hancock院長(zhǎng)還介紹，她自己本科就讀的就是St John’s，她也是家里第一個(gè)上大學(xué)的人。她鼓勵(lì)大家，對(duì)來(lái)自英國(guó)低收入家庭的18歲優(yōu)秀學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)，哈佛、耶魯或其他美國(guó)藤校能夠提供全額獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金機(jī)會(huì)，St John’s學(xué)院也希望為這些英國(guó)學(xué)生提供同樣不需要償還債務(wù)的機(jī)會(huì)，讓他們有機(jī)會(huì)在劍橋發(fā)揮自己的學(xué)術(shù)潛力。
目前，英國(guó)很多低收入家庭的優(yōu)秀學(xué)生，仍然因?yàn)閷W(xué)費(fèi)問(wèn)題，決定不上大學(xué)，這是真實(shí)存在的情況。
該獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金項(xiàng)目的資金來(lái)源是“Free Places”籌款活動(dòng)中一比匿名1400萬(wàn)英鎊的捐贈(zèng)。
劍橋St John’s學(xué)院由亨利七世的母親、亨利八世的祖母瑪格麗特·博福特(Lady Margaret Beaufort)夫人于1511年創(chuàng)建。與博福特夫人的愿望一致，在1511年至1689年期間，圣約翰學(xué)院有50%的學(xué)生來(lái)自當(dāng)時(shí)被認(rèn)為是英國(guó)北部的郡縣。 多年來(lái)，這一比例已降至目前的15%左右，反映出英國(guó)北部以外大學(xué)普遍存在的格局。
一直以來(lái)英國(guó)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金少又難拿，這次設(shè)立了全額獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金雖然主要是針對(duì)本土學(xué)生，但也算是非常巨大的進(jìn)步了。對(duì)國(guó)際生來(lái)說(shuō)，能進(jìn)牛劍就是非常值得驕傲的事情了，是不拿獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金大家也擠破頭都想進(jìn)的學(xué)校。

1.劍橋大學(xué)
劍橋大學(xué)已經(jīng)有一大批專業(yè)關(guān)閉申請(qǐng)，另外不同專業(yè)的截止時(shí)間截然不同，劍橋招生辦強(qiáng)調(diào)，由于申請(qǐng)非?；鸨ㄗh大家盡早提交申請(qǐng)，而不是等到截止日期。
