1. Do you often have dreams at night?

Yeah! Basically every night, but sometimes when I’m fully/wide awake, I would forget all of them, which is kind of weird.

I heard there are people who have never had dreams, or at least they don’t remember they had one, so sleeping for them is just like, you close your eyes at night, and then open your eyes in the morning, and it feels like just a second has passed. I’m so curious about what that feels like.

She was still half asleep (= not fully awake) when she arrived at work.

2. Do you remember your dreams when you wake up?

Well, just like I said, I would remember some of them, especially vivid and unrealistic ones and of course nightmares. For example, the other night I had a horrible dream about snakes. They were everywhere and even on my body, I just freaked out and woke up in a sweat.

跟the other night相似的用法還有the other day/ morning/ evening/ week,他們都表示recently,例如:

I saw Jack the other day.

3. Do you like hearing others' dreams?

Yeah! I like it when my friends are sharing their sweet dreams or nightmares with me. They are full of entertaining and hilarious stories, you can even tell one’s imagination from the dreams they had. And to be honest, some of the nightmares my friends told me are even more thrilling and gripping than the actual ghost stories or horror movies. Yeah, so I just love to hear about them.

Gripping表示exciting or interesting in a way that keeps your attention,經(jīng)常被翻譯成“勾人心弦的”。例如:

His books are always so gripping. It turns hours into seconds.

Why does shopping make people happy?

誤區(qū):

Well, you know it's always a pleasant feeling to wear brand new clothes that look good. It can make your image better and improve your charisma, and people are more self-confident when they are pleased with their appearance. I think it’s understandable that ladies always try to buy new clothes. Furthermore, people are all becoming more and more materialistic: we all care about occupying good stuff like cars or big houses and even the latest version of iPhone, especially when other people have. If we can afford something fancy with our own salary, we will experience a sense of achievement.

幾種在句中常見的表示遞進的關聯(lián)詞,來替換and的單一性:furthermore, moreover, still, in addition, additionally, more specifically, besides, in other words, on the other hand, meanwhile, at the same time…

Describe an interesting magazine. You should say:

what magazine it is

what the magazine is about

how often you read it

and explain why you like to read it.

When it comes to this topic, I would like to talk about 開頭句be published 發(fā)表continuously 持續(xù)地不間斷地first issue 第一版edition 版本global circulation 全球發(fā)行量distinctive features 特點extensive大量的,廣闊的dramatic戲劇性的 夸張的never fail to do 做某事從未失敗catch one’s attention 吸引某人 endangered species, global warming and environmental issues瀕危物種,全球變暖,環(huán)境問題feel close to… When it comes to this topic, I would like to talk about a magazine named National Geographic, it has been published continuously since its first issue in 1888. This magazine is circulated worldwide in nearly 40 local-language editions and had a global circulation of 6.8 million per month.

This magazine contains articles about geography, history and world culture. There are two distinctive features about it, the first thing is its extensive use of dramatic photographs, when people open it, the colourful pictures of rivers, mountains and animals never fail to catch their attention. The secondly thing would be the topics it has, most of the articles are about important issues like endangered species, global warming and environmental issues, more and more people have known a lot about our planet and its’ main challenge through reading it. I read it not often, maybe about once a month, for the reason that I’m buried in my homework for the most of the time, also that I prefer to read it in English, and there are many words that I need to look up, so it takes me a long time to read it. I love reading it mainly because I love to feel close to nature, for someone like me who was born and raised in the city, I seldom have the chance to go to a forest or climb a mountain, so reading National Geographic is a good way for me to know more about about our beautiful mother planet.

Describe a street that you like to visit.

解析:

Describe a street that you like to visit.

Sample:The street that I’m fond of visiting is Huangxing Pedestrian Street, located in the middle of Changsha, the capital of Hunan province. The street is about 1 kilometer in length, and there is a metro stop nearby so every weekend I can go there for shopping conveniently. Besides, more than one hundred shops can be found there, including large shopping malls such as Wangfujing, Wanda, as well as modern cafes and bakery shops. The central area contains a small public square with a statue of Huang Xing, the modern revolutionary pioneer, who has devoted all his life to China’s development. Because of Huang Xing’s fame, the street that goes after him has become a landmark in Changsha. In addition, Huangxing Pedestrian Street is also a paradise for us foodies. There are plenty of stalls offering tasty food, such as sushi, smelly tofu, and barbecued squid. You can also notice some western food shops standing at either side of the street, such as Mcdonald’s and Pizza Hut. Every time I go to Huang Xing Pedestrian Street, I could really wind down and feel at home. I can just be a window shopper, wandering down the street, enjoying those colorful and trendy clothes.I think Huang Xing Pedestrian Street is really appealing, both for the young and the old. Not only does it provide daily necessity for us, but also it offers some recreation for us. That’s the reason why I like visiting there.
